Family owned and operated. We will have a little of everything in the convenience store, restaurant, and RV parking spots.
Let me take the time to introduce everyone… I am Cherie Bagwell and I am married to Benson Bagwell. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA and moved to Monroe to go to nursing school. While in school, I met Benson who is originally from Delhi, LA. My parents are John and Esther McKeithen. Benson and I bought a home on Caney Lake and later bought and remodeled what is now known as Hooks Marina on the Chatham end of the lake. My parents came to visit for a 4th of July weekend and fell in love with the area and community and have now made this there home, as well. The one thing we always say we miss about Baton Rouge is the food. We want to create a dining experience which will rival some of the best eateries in Baton Rouge/South La and that is what we are going to strive to do! Our son Benjamin has worked in two great kitchens in BR (The Chimes and Elsie’s Plate and Pie) and we are fortunate he will make the move here and run the kitchen at Bateaux. We hope to bring a little South La here to Jackson Parish… get ready for the cajun invasion!
